Google has just released Google Maps Mobile v2.3 with Street View and improved search for Nokia S60 devices. Street View is USA only at the moment, but they are planning to add more countries.

Update: Google has been faster than expected, and Street View is already active also outside the USA; I just tried it here in Rome and it works perfectly!
At first I posted it here after reading about it on a blog, but the original article mentioned clearly “Skyfire for Windows Mobile”.
Now, I already had installed Skyfire on my Nokia E61 (Symbian S60 3rd Edition) and here I hazarded that it was even better than Opera Mini 4.2. Actually its only drawback is the speed: my device got a bit slower in managing web pages, but I could open everything as I was on a PC.
I finally had the chance to make some test on the weekend, and here the nice surprise: I could watch easily Fringe’s last episode from hulu.com and sling.com on my phone while comfortably on my couch in Italy! True, the screen is pretty small, but try it on an N-series device with TV-out, such as the N95, and watch it on your TV!
Google has just launched Gmail for mobile version 2.0 for J2ME-supported and BlackBerry phones. With this version, they rearchitected the entire client to push all the processing to the background, greatly improve the client-side caching scheme and optimize every bottleneck piece of code.So, what does this all mean?

Am I the only one who can not see the videos in the past few days? All I see is the black flash-player box with a bar in the middle, but the player and the videos never load.
It can not do everything an iPhone does: it has no camera and no GPS just to mention some. And it doesn't make regular phone calls.
