A: What do you think of as your weaknesses?

H: As a painter?

A: Yes, not necessarily as a man, but as a painter.

H: You can ask me both, because they’re both really the same thing. I’m very sensitive. If a painting isn’t working I’m very sensitive to the fact that it’s not working.

A: So what would you say are the weaknesses in the paintings themselves?

H: There are no weaknesses in these paintings. They’re the best fucking paintings there are out there.

I think they’re very honest, I think they’re very well-done, and I really think I’m taking painting into the 21st century, in a way that photography is trying to but it’s not. That doesn’t really answer your question about the weakness in the painting but I don’t see that many weaknesses in my painting, I actually think the painting is very strong.

A: Do you see any shortcomings as a painter?

H: In my personality, maybe. I’m a huge perfectionist.

It appears as though it could have been conducted through mincers or some other finely cut "thing," resulting in attempting to explain, through one painting, one's perception of the surrounding world -- the ability to be kind of vulnerable to coarseness.
